Christian Science
The Bible is the foundation for the theology and practice of Christian Science. Together with Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, the Bible serves as the universal Pastor for Churches of Christ, Scientist around the world. Our services are designed to recognize God’s presence and our inseparable relationship as God’s children. The purpose of church is to support the healing and spiritual growth of individuals and the world.
Our Pastor
In 1895, Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, designated the Bible and her textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, as the pastor of the church. Together, these books explain the scientific healing method practiced by Christ Jesus and provide guidance, comfort, and a deeper sense of purpose.
Christian Science Society of Apple Valley
The Apple Valley Christian Science Society is a member of the organization of Christian Science churches, societies, and informal groups around the world. A society, though usually smaller in membership than a church, adheres to the Church Manual of the First Church of Christ Scientist, in Boston, MA.
Each church determines its own form of government. When we wrote the Rules and Bylaws that govern our society, we decided, rather than have a Board of Directors, we would make decisions using a membership consensus model.
The Apple Valley Christian Science Society was built on this location in 2000. The building was designed with state-of-the-art energy features: a geothermal heating and cooling system, super-insulated walls and windows, and an abundance of sunlight and glass.
